Meet AirLink, short links that show where clicks come from

You print a flyer for the spring open house. You add a link to your invoices. You drop the same link in your Instagram bio, then again in a Facebook post. Customers show up, but you have no idea which of those four places actually brought them in.

One link everywhere tells you nothing

When every place gets the same plain link, every click looks the same. The person who typed in the address from your flyer and the person who tapped your bio arrive at the same page, the same way, and leave no trace of where they started.

So you guess. You keep printing the flyer because you always have. You keep fiddling with the bio because it feels productive. Guessing feels like marketing, but it is mostly habit.

Meet AirLink

AirLink is a new page inside Pilot, our all-in-one platform for creative and event businesses. Paste any URL and you get a short, tracked link on the air4.link domain. You can choose a clean custom ending, like air4.link/spring-sale, or leave it blank and AirLink assigns a random code.

The trick is to make a different link for each place. One for the flyer, one for the invoice footer, one for the bio, one for the post. They all point to the same page, but every click is counted and its source is recorded, so the clicks themselves tell you where your customers really come from.

A dashboard keeps score: total links, active links, and total clicks, with a searchable list. A month from now, you can look back and see which channel earned its keep.

We used it on our own marketing first

We do not like announcing a feature we have not lived with. So for the past few weeks, we have been quietly running our own marketing through AirLink. If you clicked air4.link/tripod to read an essay, air4.link/x17 for our Android app launch, air4.link/damastory for a client story, or air4.link/c2pa, you were already using it.

The tally so far: 27 links and 317 clicks counted. The totals are nice, but knowing the source of each click is the real prize. For each of those links, we can see where the clicks came from, channel by channel. That is the whole point: not bigger numbers, but knowing which effort earned them.

It is built into AirSocial too

If you publish stories to social with AirSocial, AirLink is already waiting for you. When you publish a story, one checkbox, "Create a tracked air4.link for this story," mints a tracked link automatically. A compact view of your recent links sits right inside AirSocial, no screen switching needed.

Why this matters for a small shop

You did not get into business to study analytics, and you should not have to. AirLink keeps it simple:

  • Your flyers, invoices, bios, and posts get clean, short links instead of long tangled ones.
  • You finally know which channel got the clicks, so next month's effort goes where the results are.
  • You can cancel the third-party link shortener subscription.
  • It lives where the rest of your business already lives, inside Pilot.

And like everything in Pilot, your links are yours alone. Each business sees and manages only its own links.

Let the clicks settle it

AirLink is in Pilot now. Next time you print a flyer or send an invoice, give each one its own short link and let the clicks settle the argument about what works. If you are not on Pilot yet, come take a look at air4.media.
