Content Credentials and C2PA at Air4media

Independently assessed. Publicly listed. Verifiable by anyone, including you.

Content Credentials are a tamper-evident record of where a piece of media came from and what happened to it afterwards. That record matters now because AI generated images are everywhere, and a photograph on its own no longer tells anyone who made it or whether it was changed. Air4media is conformant on both sides of the C2PA standard: FotoTrafiX creates provenance, and Air4.media Pilot checks it.

Our two conformance records

Both records are held by Air4media LLC and both are listed publicly on the C2PA Conformance Explorer.

A generator creates provenance and a validator checks it. Air4media is conformant as both, which is uncommon: most vendors are assessed on one side of the standard, not on both. Assurance levels exist to protect a signing key, so they do not apply to a validator, which never signs anything.

Verify it yourself

Do not take our word for any of this. The C2PA publishes its own list of conformant products. Open the Conformance Explorer and search for Air4media, and both records above will come up.

What this means for you

  • Your credit travels with the work: your name, your caption, and your location are written inside the file itself, in full IPTC and EXIF, not in a separate document that gets lost the first time someone re-saves it.
  • Provenance can be checked, not just claimed: the standard we build to is independently assessed and published, so a client, an editor, or a partner can confirm it without asking us.
  • The same system creates and checks: because FotoTrafiX is conformant as a generator and Pilot is conformant as a validator, provenance does not have to leave our tools to be verified.

What is next

One step remains, and we would rather state it plainly than let anyone assume more than is true. Conformance says our software builds and reads Content Credentials correctly. Actually signing a file also needs a signing certificate issued by a certificate authority, and that certificate is the piece we are still working through. Until it is in place, we are conformant and independently assessed, but we are not yet signing files with Content Credentials in production. This page will say so on the day that changes.
